Has this one got Samsung motor in it like the DC27?

Nope, it has a Panasonic motor in. I believe the DC27 is the first to use the new Samsung motor.

does it fliter the dust and allergens (pollen, pet dander etc) well? i have some pretty bad allergies and some of my vacuums are hard for me to use because of them

It’s called the ‘+Allergy’ because it ’s designed to do just that! :)

Is a Dyson vacuum considered a status symbol in England?

Yes, in our backwards little country, Dysons are so revered that only the Queen is allowed to own one! ;) Actually no, the term ’status symbol’ implies something aspirational and exclusive, and I’d say Dysons are too popular for that to apply.

I’m not sure why Americans like headlights so much! No cleaner in Britain come with headlights, other than the Vax Mach series, which are just re-badged versions of US Hoover cyclonic machines! When I’m using a cleaner without one, I don’t miss it. But I agree. The Dyson lacks the ‘Beats….as it Sweeps…as it Cleans’ growl!

nope thats what i miss about the windtunnel the big growl it had, but i guess if you grow up never really having a headlight on a vac, i guess youd be use to it but the dyson is the first vacuum weve owned that doesnt have a headlight

I remember once when I was very young and my parents owned a Turbopower U2332 – I went up to my Dad and asked “why does the vacuum have a light on it?”..his responce? “In case you’re vacuuming in a power cut!”…it took me YEARS to get what he meant by that lol.
