EDITED TO ADD: It probably has quirky screw heads and you will need to take it to a Sew & Vac store where they will have the tools needed to open the housing and get the cord out. Hold on to it when retracing so it winds slowly. Sometimes you can get the cord out by using continuous little tugs.
