How Do You Vacuum A New Wall To Wall Carpet Without Clogging Up Your Vacuum With Carpet Lint?

I have already tried to vacuum the house with a new vacuum on a new wall to wall carpet but the new carpet continues to develop little balls of carpet fluff or lint. The first time I vacuumed the carpet the vacuum was compacted with the lint and then wasn’t able to get any more things out of the carpet.
Is there something that I need to do with a new carpet? is there a tool used to clean up the carpet lint? Should I use a different setting to vacuum the carpet? Is there a vacuum rating I need to get the carpet clean?

You can also get a carpet (or rug) comb. It’s a rubber comb on a long handle that is used to fluff carpets. That will get extra fibers out of the rug & will make it easier to vacuum. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to buy one. I ‘inherited’ mine. You could check a store that sells only vacuums or a commercial cleaning supply store.

with “Kerby” adjustment knob level “4″ make sure that yourself
completely emptied the dust bag out side into trash can first !

just keep vaccuming every day and use a new bag each time..eventually the fuzz will be gone..be sure your floor setting is not too low and is not beating up on the fibers..

Keep at it. It’ll diminish eventually!

you need to get a carpet sweeper, perhaps an older relative has one you could borrow , you can still by them . square shaped box type of thing with long handle . Yo push it back and forwards, has small brushes inside , not to good at explaining, anyway use this every day this will pick up most of the lint . and really you should´t hoover a new carpet straight away, well at least for a couple of days

Unfortunately, It sounds like it may be your new carpet and not your vacuum. We once moved into a house that had new carpeting in the family room on the lower level, but mismatched older carpeting in the rest of the house. Well anyway, we re-carpeted the rest of the house in a different type of carpeting. The one that was there previously was a very soft, plush type of carpet and always shed like crazy. I had to empty the vacuum every time I vacuumed it. The carpet that we chose was still a type of shag, but the fibers were woven together more. In a kind of rope like fashion. That carpeting never, ever shed.
